Partners in Science CT Audubon Society, CTThe Connecticut Audubon Society supports the 2004 CT Core Science Curriculum Framework with a variety of programs and workshops focusing on ecological concepts and science skills offered at multiple locations throughout the state (Fairfield, Glastonbury, Brooklyn, Milford, and a “Rolling Nature Center “ on a bus). All programs emphasize direct experiences for the student with hands-on activities in the outdoors. There are also indoor facilities at most locations where students can view exhibits and participate in some hands-on workshops during inclement weather. The programs and exhibits vary from location to location, depending on the local environment. These programs vary in length and can be combined to fill an entire day or can be spread over several trips to take advantage of seasonal variations. The staff is continually updating the Society’s programs and will also develop programs to fit the needs of individual schools. This list is not intended to be a complete listing. For complete descriptions, visit their website. Teacher Preparation: No specific teacher preparation is required but the staff is happy to provide pre and post trip materials and suggestions for the classroom. For more information, contact: |
