The Building

Watch the virtual flyover
You have probably visited a place for the attractions it holds within. Or, maybe you have visited a place because the building itself is a piece of art – an exhibit in its own right. When The Connecticut Science Center opens its doors – you’ll be able to do both!
Not only will the Center be filled with hands-on exhibits, a giant screen theater, laboratories, classrooms and a dramatic river viewing platform, but the building itself will be a landmark structure on the Hartford skyline and a working model of new “green” energy technologies. This will be a building that teaches and a building that excites. In doing so, it will be both a physical home for science, and an active part of everything we do together.
The Connecticut Science Center facility is designed by architect Cesar Pelli, and is being built through the collaborative efforts of the Center, the State of Connecticut Office of Policy & Management, the Capital City Economic Development Authority, and Whiting Turner Contracting Company.
