"Invent the Future"
Building Challenge
Sponsored by the Connecticut Science Center and LEGO Systems, Inc.
The Connecticut Science Center and LEGO Systems, Inc. challenge you to imagine, design and construct an invention that everyone will want or need in the next 50 years.
Participants should consider how the invention can have a positive impact on scientific issues of current global importance – the environment, conservation of natural resources, energy sources, land and wildlife preservation, climate change, medical research, natural disasters, urban/community planning, etc.

How to enter:
Entering is easy.*
- Build a model using LEGO® bricks
- Take a photo of the model to submit
- Write 100-200 words about the invention, its function and why people will need or want it in the next 50 years

To qualify, entries must be received by July 6, 2009.
Who may enter:
- Individuals living in New England (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont)
- Groups comprised of any ages; all individuals in the groups must live in New England.
Judging:
Entries will be judged in five categories:
- Individual entries ages 6-9
- Individual entries ages 10-13
- Individual entries ages 14-17
- Individual entries ages 18 and up
- Groups comprised of any ages
