School Field Trips

The Connecticut Science Center is dedicated to inspiring learning and curiosity by connecting science and technology with everyday life. There's no better way to engage young minds than providing stimulating, hands-on opportunities for exploration. We encourage you to use the Science Center as your very own larger-than-life learning lab. Customize a day of fun that fits your curriculum, time and budget.

School pricing is available for classes during the school day. Information for other groups is available on our Group Visit page. General Admission for school groups is available 9 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday – Friday.There is no minimum group size for school groups seeking General Admission. Maximum group size is 200 people.

We highly recommend teachers attend our field trip professional development workshops. These workshops provide a great introduction to the Science Center and its learning resources.

Reservation Center Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM

Field Trip Options:

General Admission (Exhibit Galleries)

3D Theater

• Daytime films typically last 25 to 40 minutes, Tuesdays - Fridays
• The Theater can accommodate up to 200 people at one time
• General Admission is required with 3D Theater programming for school groups

Discovery Center Science Programs

• Discovery Center programs for school groups are available Tuesdays - Fridays, September - June
• Time slots: 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2 PM
• Foundation Programs run 45 minutes
• Enrichment Programs run 90 minutes
• General Admission is required with Discovery Center programming
• Maximum class size for Discovery Center programs is 25 students
• Minimum class size is 10 students. Groups with fewer than 10 students will be charged for 10 students.

We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals but we cannot guarantee a full program, or any program at all, if you are late. Late arrivals will not be allowed into the Theater. Late arrivals will not be refunded for missed programs or movies. Please plan your trip accordingly, allowing plenty of time for traffic issues. Upon arrival, you will receive a 5-10 minute orientation by the staff.

School Field Trip Admission Prices (per person)

* One teacher per group of 24 students is complimentary for all the above

The Science Center requires adequate adult supervision for all visiting school groups. We strongly recommend a minimum of 1 chaperone per 8 students. To ensure this, the cost is automatically added onto your reservation.

Because groups enjoy an admission fee discount, individual membership passes, season passes and other discounts and coupons are not applicable toward group admission.
