The Connecticut Science Center offers fun, interactive, hassle-free birthday parties for all ages. Celebrate your child’s birthday by splashing in KidSpace, blasting off to Exploring Space, or getting swept up by the Hurricane Simulator. Your friends and family can experience over 165 hands-on exhibits at the Connecticut Science Center.
The Science Center birthday party package includes:
- All-day admission for selected number of guests
- Decorated Room Rental for 2 hours (includes 90-minute party and 30 minutes for set up/clean up)
- Dedicated Science Center Party Host
- Tablecloths, paper goods & plasticware
- 1 complimentary goody bag for birthday child

Party Pricing
- Up to 20 guests: $450 (Members) / $500 (Non-Members)
- Up to 30 guests: $585 (Members) / $650 (Non-Members)
- Up to 40 guests: $795 (Members) / $875 (Non-Members)
- Up to 50 guests: $930 (Members) / $1,025 (Non-Members)
- Up to 60 guests: $1,065 (Members) / $1,175 (Non-Members)
Note: Parties of 40+ guests will require an extra party host.

Birthday parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays. On the day of your party, attendees may arrive beginning at 10AM to experience all of the Science Center’s exhibits. To reserve a party date, you must complete the online request form, and submit a $100 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance will be due within 5 business days of your party.

Planning Your Party
How do I book my party?
Please read and complete the Birthday Party Request Form. You will be contacted regarding your request within 48 business hours. A $100 deposit must be received to secure your party date.
Can I bring my own decorations?Yes! You may bring decorations as long as they do not hang from the ceiling. Please note that we do not allow helium balloons or candles/flames in the Science Center. For any wall decorations, we require that you use wall-safe adhesives and do not use thumb-tacks.
Do I have to provide party goods?The Science Center will provide all the tableware and utensils you will need for your birthday party. You are welcome to bring in your own supplies if you have something themed or specific you would prefer to use.
How long do I have to make changes for my party?A final headcount is requested prior to the date of your party. Any changes within 5 days of the party may not be able to be accommodated. One month's advance notice is required if your party will exceed 40 guests.
If I cancel my party, will I get a refund?
If the Connecticut Science Center must cancel the event for reasons beyond its control (i.e. inclement weather closings), the client will be notified immediately and have the option of rescheduling or receiving a full refund.
Should the client elect to cancel their party for any reason, the client will be able to apply their original deposit towards rescheduling their party within 1 year from their original party date. Any payments made aside from the deposit will be refunded upon notice of cancellation.
When is my final payment due?Final payment is due the week prior to your party. Please contact us to discuss other payment options.

Guests & Attendance
Can parents attend my child’s party?
Yes! Adults who visit the galleries with your party should be included in your total headcount and will be charged per person. If you have 1-5 extra guests above your tier, we can accommodate them for $20 per person. If you have 6 or more extra guests, your party will be raised to the next tier.
Can I or my guests use my Membership to get into a birthday party for free?The host family must pay for the tier of 20 guests even if everyone is a member. Member guests should check-in at the Ticketing Counter to use their Membership.

Food & Beverage
Can I bring my own Food and Cake?
Yes! You are welcome to bring food and cake for your birthday party. Please note that we do not allow sterno flames, cannot reheat food, and cannot keep anything refrigerated or frozen i.e. ice cream cake.

Arrival Information
Where can my guests drop off their children?
Parents and guardians dropping off children for a birthday party may park in our bus drop-off area for no more than 10 minutes. Visitors staying for the duration of the party may park in our garage — please see below for more information.
Where can my guests pick up their children?Parents and guardians picking up their children after a birthday party should visit the Birthday Desk on Level G1 or the Ticketing Counter in our lobby to let an employee know which party their child is attending. A chaperone from the party will escort the child to meet their parent(s).
Where can I park?The Science Center/Riverfront Garage is located at the corner of Grove Street and Columbus Boulevard, underneath the Science Center building. Parking is $3.00 for the 1st hour and $2.00 for each additional hour.
Please note: The Connecticut Science Center does not own or operate the garage.
