There are many ways to get to the Connecticut Science Center — and we're here to help you choose the one that works best for you! Below, find everything you need to know about directions, parking, public transportation, and more.
From North of Hartford
- Take I-91 heading south into Hartford
- Take EXIT 29A toward Capitol Area (0.2 miles)
- Merge onto Whitehead Hwy (0.1 miles)
- Take the Columbus Blvd exit (0.1 miles)
- Turn right onto Columbus Blvd (0.2 miles)
- For Parking options turn RIGHT onto Bob Steele St (formerly Grove St.) immediately before the building.
From South of Hartford
- Take I-91 heading north into Hartford
- Take EXIT 29A on the LEFT toward Capitol Area (0.3 mi)
- Merge onto Whitehead Hwy. (0.1 mi)
- Take the Columbus Blvd. exit (0.1 mi)
- Turn right onto Columbus Blvd. (0.2 mi)
- For parking options, turn right onto Bob Steele St. (formerly Grove St.) immediately before the building.
From East of Hartford
- Take I-84 heading west into Hartford
- Merge onto Route 2 West via Exit 54 on the Left toward Downtown Hartford (0.6 mi)
- Route 2 becomes Founders Bridge (0.2 mi)
- Founders Bridge becomes State St. (0.1 mi)
- Turn Left onto Columbus Blvd. (0.1 mi)
- The Connecticut Science Center is on the left.
- Turn Left immediately after the building for Parking options.
From West of Hartford
- Take I-84 heading east into Hartford
- Merge onto I-91 S via Exit 52 toward New Haven (0.6 mi)
- Take Exit 29A toward Capitol Area (0.2 mi)
- Merge onto Whitehead Hwy. (0.1 mi)
- Take the Columbus Blvd. exit (0.1 mi)
- Turn right onto Columbus Blvd. (0.2 mi)
- For Parking options turn right onto Bob Steele St. (formerly GROVE ST), immediately before the building.

The Hartford dash is a free downtown shuttle. It departs from the Connecticut Convention Center’s lower lobby every 15 minutes.

Parking
Connecticut Science Center members, enjoy $5 flat-rate parking at the Science Center and Convention Center garages during your visit! Just grab a parking sticker when you check in. This special rate is available only on days we're open and during regular hours. Please note: the garages are operated by the Capital Region Development Authority, not the Science Center. Parking fees for non-members and all garage operations are determined by Capital Region Development Authority.
Science Center Garage
Park like a pro! The Science Center Garage is located right beneath our building, with an entrance off Grove Street. It’s a public garage and your closest option. If it’s full, the Convention Center garage is just across the street. Need more options? Visit Hartford Parking Authority for more parking and shuttle information.
Convention Center Garage
Science Center Garage full? No worries! You can park at the Connecticut Convention Center garage, with entrances on Mechanic and Potter Streets. For more parking options and shuttle details, check out the Hartford Parking Authority.
