The Connecticut Science Center is proud to serve the community as a vibrant hub for science learning in Connecticut — innovative, inclusive, and engaging for all. Our mission is to spark curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), especially among children, to help meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in these fields. Through hands-on exhibits and interactive programs, we deliver enriching experiences that foster learning, growth, and opportunity — because we believe science education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income.
Access
Available to qualifying families residing in Connecticut or Massachusetts, the Access Membership provides all the benefits of a standard annual Membership at a reduced rate. Options are available for up to six individuals, making science more accessible to more families.
What It Includes
Access Membership includes everything that our traditional annual Membership includes. Some of the benefits you will receive are:
- One (1) year of unlimited general admission
- $5 on-site garage parking during our business hours
- Various reciprocals (as announced) with local partner museums and attractions
- Exclusive Member preview early access to new exhibits
- Special events throughout the year
- 10% birthday party discount
- 10% gift shop discount
- Fully tax-deductible up to the amount you paid
Do you qualify?
To qualify for Access Membership, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be a resident of either Connecticut or Massachusetts
- Have a Connecticut or Massachusetts government-issued photo ID
- Provide one of the following forms of proof (must be in the adult's name):
- EBT Card - with the "Quest" logo
- Husky A or C Health Insurance Card
- MassHealth Insurance Card
Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. All cardholders must be at least 18 years old and listed by name on the Membership. A named cardholder must be present for each visit and is included in the admission count. Visitors must present both a valid photo ID and their Membership card upon entry. Membership benefits do not extend to birthday parties, school field trips, or other group reservations, and are valid exclusively at the Connecticut Science Center. We are committed to protecting your privacy — your personal information is never shared or sold outside of the Connecticut Science Center.
Access Membership
Qualifying low-income families in Connecticut or Massachusetts can enjoy all the benefits of a full Membership — at a reduced price. Plans available for up to six people. Take your pick!
Butterfly Encounter Add-On
Spread your wings! The Butterfly Encounter add-on gives you unlimited visits to our colorful, immersive butterfly experience. This add-on costs an extra $15 per person and must be added for every member on your Membership. For example, a four-person Membership would pay an additional $60 to include this feature. You can add this option anytime during your Membership term, and it will expire on the same date as your primary Membership, regardless of when you purchase the add-on.
Caregiver Add-On
The Caregiver add-on costs $60 (available for Family Memberships with 2 or more people) and lets you add a third named cardholder — such as a grandparent, au pair, or nanny — who can use the Membership to visit with your children. This add-on does not increase the total number of visitors allowed at one time, which is still set by your Membership level. With this add-on, the third cardholder can visit without the primary or secondary cardholders present.

Applying for an Access Membership is easy, and we offer a few ways to take the next step. You can visit us in-person at our ticketing counter during normal business hours. You can also fill out our application form and someone from our office will call you to complete the process.
