Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen the community pull together by staying apart to flatten the curve. From these extraordinary circumstances, we’ve been inspired by innovation, problem -solving, and acts of incredible kindness in our community. From making personal protective equipment (PPE) and using technology to find lifesaving solutions, to supporting the essential workers and STEM heroes on the front lines. Here are some of the innovators and helpers that inspired us this week.

Makerspace CT:
Makerspace CT for mobilizing makers to respond to the need for PPE. Having just celebrated its first birthday, Makerspace CT has quickly become a vital force downtown assembling and mobilizing its community of members, volunteers and staff to produce personal protective equipment to local emergency responders. The group is busy 3D printing parts and sourcing off-the-shelf materials for face shields. The streamlined manufacturing process in the Hartford facility is designed to get help quickly to emergency management and healthcare facilities.
Makerspace CT CEO, Devra Sisitsky explains it all to Ari Santiago, CEO at IT Direct on his Made in America podcast.
Our Local Restaurants:
