Have you ever heard of Newton’s first law that goes “A body at rest will remain at rest unless an outside force acts on it, and a body in motion at a constant velocity will remain in motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force?” This week’s Science Sunday segment uses a magnet canon to change magnetic energy into kinetic energy as an example of how an outside force can put an object at rest in motion.
