The Connecticut Science Center’s new happy-hour events are for curious adults who want to have fun and expand their knowledge. At Science Straight Up, ages 21+ will explore socially relevant topics with hands-on activities, science experts, entertainment, and cocktails. Welcome to Hartford’s smartest happy hour.

Our popular Science Straight Up series is joining forces with our MakeFest event for an exciting day and evening of fun. After MakeFest, those who are 21 or older can step into the world of the ancient Maya and explore one of the most complex and advanced civilizations in an exciting new way with local artisans and experts.

Science Straight Up: Maya & Makers will further explore the art, culture, architecture, and more all while enjoying some local food, music, and drinks. Hear from local experts and makers while you immerse yourself into the Maya culture in our current traveling exhibition MAYA: Hidden Worlds Revealed and enjoy a kid-free evening.
