In this week’s Science Sunday segment, we learn about Bernoulli’s Balloon principle that states pressure decreases inside a stream of flowing air. If you’ve ever been to the Forces in Motion exhibit at the Connecticut Science Center, you have probably done this experiment yourself. Using the power of wind, an object such as a beach ball will want to stick to the area of low pressure of the fast-moving air to stay afloat. The beach ball can then be directed up, down, left, or right by controlling the angle and position of the airflow.

Now try saying Bernoulli’s Balloon principle five times fast and watch the full Science Sunday: Understanding air pressure segment.

There is so much more Science Sunday to explore. Check out the full gallery of segments on our blog: https://ctsciencecenter.org/blog_categories/science-sunday/.
