Science Sunday: Changing the Effects of Air

Hi everyone and welcome back to another edition of Science Sunday. Today we are talking about how we can change the effects of air once we change the temperature of the air. What do you think happens when the temperature of the air gets warmer or colder? Specifically, we are talking about air molecules. When the temperature of the air gets colder, the air molecules slow down and start to clump together. On the reverse side, when the temperature of the air gets warmer, the air molecules start moving faster and spread out more. Now onto the fun part, there is an experiment you can try at home (with some adult supervision) that includes a soda can, some water, and heat. Watch the full Science Sunday segment below and check out our Science At Play: I’ve Got a Crush on You blog post to learn more.

Now through Labor Day Weekend, the Connecticut Science Center is FREE to all Connecticut kids (ages 18 and under) plus one accompanying adult. Reserve your ticket online at CTScienceCenter.org to ensure your ticket.
