Teen Programs Staff
Justin Riley
Justin is the Teen Programs Coordinator and STEM Educator at the Connecticut
Science Center, where he works closely with high school students giving them
access to STEM and leadership programming. Justin graduated from the University
of Hartford with his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering Technology. During his
undergraduate career he was very active on campus, and during this time he
discovered he had a strong interest inspiring his peers to become active in
their communities and to continue their learning process. He went back to school
and received his Master’s in Counselor Education and Student Development. Justin
has worked several years with a wide range of students from pre-k to college.
His love of engineering and mentoring led him to the Connecticut Science Center
where he gets to use his many talents to work and connect with the students in
the Greater Hartford area. When he is not helping to run the teen program, he
spends his time traveling and spending close time with family and friends.
Celina Velez
Celina (AKA Celi) is the Teen Program Associate at the CT Science Center. She had
participated in the teen program as a student in high school to then join as a
mentor. Celi is currently pursuing a degree in biology to eventually transition
into education. She is passionate about inspiring students to find their career
path along. With her experience as an alumna, her background in advising, and
her ambition to continue learning, her role as a mentor plays a vital part in
the Teen Program. During her free time, she enjoys playing trading card games,
reading, and spending time with her friends.
